Looking for Axanter from Germany
My G.G.Grandfather was born at Frankfurt em Maine around 1839 The only information I have is that he was a shepherd at "Gostwych" in 1863 In 1865 he was at "Yarrowyck" In 1865 he married Harriet Horn daughter of convicts George Horn and Mary Maloney They were married at Yarrowyck Station They had 8 children

John Axanter b 1868 at "Laura Creek" Armidale
Charlotte Sophia Axanter b 1871 Armidale
Frederick Alexander b 1874 Inverell
George Alexander b 1876 Inverell
Harriett Jane Alexander b 1878 Inverell
James Moten Alexander b 1881 "Kangaroo Camp" Inverell
Annie Caroline Alexander b 1884 Glen Innes
Frederick died 1919 Harriet died 1923 and the are buried in the Glen Innes Cemetery
John Axanter changed his name to John White
Frederick was married as Alexander but changed his name to White after 1907
James Moten Alexander changed his Name to White He had a rather checkered life
I have who they married children names etc I would love to find out what ship Frederick arrived on and why they changed their name We have no idea what happened to James
