Introduction:

Hi, My name is Betty Johanna Barwig Hutson and I live in Thousand Oaks, Calif. I am a native Californian and have been actively researching my ancestors for 6 years now. My mom and her sisters helped alot because they had done a lot of research for us using a paper trail. My sister has also done alot of research and we help each other. I became really interesting in searching my family roots 6 years ago when I received a telephone message that said, "Hi cousin" from and unknown person. It turns out that our grandmothers were sisters and we have become fast and very dear friends/cousins who help each other out in our research. Presently I am working on my Crites and Woodcock lines trying to link up everybody so that I can join the DAR. We have a very active group here in Calif.
I am 66 years young and retired from my nursing job in 2005. I am very active in my church and help others there who are starting out on their own family research. I am also active in my genealogy society local group.
I have been married 47 years, have 3 living children and 4 grandchildren. I guess that this ia all about me for now. I look forward to hearing from other researchers.
I received a response to my querry today and it was the right one but was unable to respond to the person to connect with them. The response was from "alley Cat".
Thanks one and all and Happy New Years.

Looking for gravesite of Modena F. Woodcock

I am looking for the gravesite of my ggrandfather, Modena Francis Woodcock who died in Mussel Slough, Calif. May 29, 1880 from injuries that he had obtained in the Civil War. Once I am able to locate his grave site then the Sons of the Confederate soldiers will be able to place a permanet marker. Any help will be appreciated.

After his death, my ggrandmother took the children back to Arkansas via the train.

Thank You,
Betty
