Edward an wife Hannah E FLETCHER from England to Canada
Edward FLETCHER and wife Hannah E (RICHARDSON) FLETCHER along with sons Michael and Robert Louis FLETCHER left England to go to Canada. I would like t know how what port and on what ship they left England and where and when they entered Canada. In 1841 they are on the census as living in Sculcoates, Kingston Upon Hull, Yorkshire, England. In 1844 they had a son John born in Ontario, Canada. In 1861 they lived in Belleville, Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. I could not find them on the 1851 census, however the would be in Ontario, Canada. Is there anyone that could tell me about there life in England or there passage to Canada? Edward is the son of Michael FLETCHER and Hannah is the daughter of Robert RICHARDSON.

Edward married 28 Mar 1838 Holy Trinity, Kingston Upon Hull,Yorkshire, England, to Hannah E RICHARDSON b 1810 England to Robert RICHARDSON mother unknown. 1841 census Edward, Hannah and son Michael lived in Sculcoates, Yorkshire, England. By 1844 Edward and family lived in Ontario, Canada. Would like to know who Edward and wife Hannah's mothers are. What become of Edward's and Hannah's parents? Did Edward, wife and sons go to Canada alone or did other relatives go along? They ended up in the United States so why would the go to Ontario, Canada first rather then directly to the United States?

I am researching the family of Michael FLETCHER born 1839 England. Michael married about 1863 in Canada to Helen KNAPP. Michael died 1909 East Whitby, Ontario, Canada. Michael lived Oshawa, Ontario in 1871, 1881. In 1891 Michael lived in Whitby, Ontario. Michael and Helen had 6 children that I know of. 2 or 3 of the children located to Cleveland, Ohio, USA where they lived and died. Daughter Hannah married a George Anderson, moved to Ohio where they raised there children and died. Daughter Winifred married a William Humpage, moved to Ohio where they raised there child and died. Daughter Helen went to Ohio, where I lost her trail.

John had a brother Robert Louis who died in Cuyahoga County and buried in Chestnut Grove Cemetery in that county. Robert m. 1871 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio to Jane GRAHAM. Brother George W m. 1871 Cuyahoga County, Ohio to Laura Rose CRUMB and died after 1900. Brother Edward B. 1851 Canada, in 1870 lived in Cleveland, Ohio. Sister Anna b. 1867 Ohio. It looks like after arriving in Cuyahoga County around 1862, Edward and his children all stayed in the Cleveland area. I found Edward and family in 1861 living in Belleville, Hastings, Ontario, Canada.
