Dead end. Help?

I am not completely sure I have the correct lineage between Thomas S & Peter N B Helm (he may have been the brother of Peleg Helm). My family seems to have remained in Dagsboro, Sussex County, Delaware from Peter N B (if that is the correct branch) to the present, except for a few years of Thomas S & Elizabeth M living in Accomack Co Virginia. It is possible they returned to Dagsboro Delaware before the 1890 census, but since that one was mostly destroyed, I can't be certain. But they were back in Dagsboro by the 1900 census. Their middle child (Roy J) was born while in Virginia. Thomas was still in Dagsboro in the 1870 census, but apparently unmarried. The first 3 children--Ida, Frank (Franklin) and Wilhelmina--were born in Delaware as were the last 3--Thomas Baker (my great grandfather) & Peter L (they were twins), and Mary E.
