I decend down through Col. Henry Ruiter's son, John. Captain John Ruiter, married Sarah Fyler , daughter of Samuel Fyler and Jerusha Hopping. John and Sarah lived at Ruiter's Corner, Stanstead Co., Quebec. Sarah (Sally) and John Ruiter are buried at Ruiter's Cemetery, Stanstead Co., Quebec. The surname Fyler is also spelled Filer.
