My gggg grandparents, Charles Taylor and Maryann Seymour came to the US from Hampshire, England in 1836. They migrated in the Norwich area in Muskingum County, Ohio. One of the their sons, William, stayed in the Norwich area while the rest of the family moved to Trimble Twp. in Athens County, OH. One of their sons, Joseph C. Taylor, was a prominent farmer in the Taylor Ridge area. He married Abigail Kempton around 1851. Their eldest son, Edward, was my gg grandfather. His son, Arthur, was my great grandfather.

I have been trying to find information on my gggg grandfather, Jeremiah P. Thompson who was born in 1775 in Morristown, NJ. He married Ann Price Decemeber 16, 1779 in Sussex County, NJ. They arrived in Athens County OH in the 1820s judging by the census records. They had the following children: William P., Hannah, Samuel, Nathaniel, John, Sarah, Robert Ezra and James.

I said that Jeremiah came from Morristown, NJ. That is an assumption on my part based on how old he was when he died in 1848. Other sources say that the Jeremiah Thompson who married Ann Price was born in Newton, NJ in Sussex County. But that Jeremiah is said to have been born about 1770. I would love to find out the real information on Jeremiah.

I would like to go beyond Jeremiah and find out who his parents were and where they were from. This is my brick wall right now.
