I Received my grandmother Nora Egan SS brief record, which indicated her mother was Catherine Barrett and her father was Michael Egan. It also indicates that my grandmother was born in Connecticut 1897. I have searched and searched and can't find anything about them. 1915 1920 1940 censes indicate my grandmother Nora came from Ireland, but in the 1930 censes she comes from Connecticut. How do you know which one is correct? I have not idea where she comes from or if Catherine and Michael are her parents. My cousins won't talk it almost seen there is this dark secret. If anyone has any information or can send me the some direction I would greatly appreciate it. I do know that Nora Egan married James Higgins and they live in Manhattan and that is all I know.
