James FINDLAY born in 1835,married Jean MORRISON, born 1840, in February 1856 at Keith in Scotland where they had at least 5 children, Margaret born 1856,William 1858,Jane or Jean born 1860,James in 1863 and Jessie in 1866.The family then moved to Ontario in Canada sometime between 1866 and 1873 where it appears they had 3 more children, George in 1873,Elizabeth in 1880 and Robert in 1882.

James is my Gt,Gt,Gt Grandfather Williams younger brother.Their parents were James FINDLAY and Jane BUIE who were married at Keith in Scotland in 1832.Their mother died in 1835 and their father remarried to Margaret BUIE in 1837 and they had 6 more children - John 1839,George 1842,Robert Graham 1844,Jessie 1846,Isabella 1848 and Margaret in 1852.The family in Canada was in contact with family in New Zealand during the latter part of the nineteenth century.
