Looking for family of FLODEN in BC, CANADA
Looking for parents, siblings, relatives, anyone who knows...
of/about ROY LEONARD FLODEN who was raised by the STILLERS. Roy was born in BC in 1943. We are his family and would like to find his birth family. Perhaps the Flodens would like to know about Roy and the life he had, his descendants?
MILLER, Elisabeth
I have been researching the Miller line from my g. grandmother, Edith Miller Hudson. She was born in Beaver Co., PA, USA, circa 1834. She had siblings: Elisabeth, Ellen, Jane, Robert, William, Moses. I have found a census where she lived with her siblings and mother (no father present). The mother's name was Elisabeth Miller, b. 1809 PA, USA(no maiden name given). I noted that at adjacent homes there were other Miller families that be related. My suspicions are based on nothing more than common christian names and their physical proximity. The head of the household was William Miller, his wife Margaret, children Ellen, Martha, Robert, Aaron, and Rufina. There was also a Aaron Shannon and Elizabeth Miller in a nearby home. I could not find an earlier census. These are quite difficult because they usually list the head of the household and then just numbers of people in the household who fall in certain age groups. As I did not have the name of Elisabeth Miller's husband, I could not find a probable match. I searched a later census and was able to find one where Elisabeth was with her husband Joseph. The older children had left the home and a couple of new children were with them. One child a Joseph S. Miller.
I am continuing the search, but it's slow work. I have a family portrait album which has many Hudsons, Millers, Greenfields, Shurlocks, Grahams. The latter names appear to be surnames of the husbands of Edith Miller's sisters. I have found a descendant of one of the sisters who has the same picture of her ancestor as I do. I would love to find someone who has a picture of Edith herself. Also, if anyone has a picture of Elisabeth (I may have but cannot definitely identify it) and of Bethsheba Hudson (also, I have a picture possibly of Bethsheba and her sister) I would love for them to contact me. If anyone is looking for pictures, let me know what you are looking for.
Has anyone run across a site that helps you identify time by looking at clothing or the pictures themselves?
Looking for SLATER, John Ross and wife Florence
No knowledge of my g.father except names. My father was born in Minneapolis USA 1918. Florence believed to be from New Westminster, BC, Canada with perhaps a maiden name Sloane.
Looking for ELSTERMANN of Germany and BC, Canada
My g.g.father, Frederick Wilhelm (or William) Bernhardt Elstermann, born in Germany. Name changes through time from possibly Elstermann von Elster, Elstermann, Elsterman, Elster and has been entered mistakenly in data bases as Eister. Mother's maiden name was Wiser.
Wife's name was Jane Wood b. in Nass River Valley, BC (native). Believed to have come from Germany with a brother, name unknown. Was lighthouse tender at Lawyer Island in the very early years.
