Benjamin Franklin Sargent was born in Mo. and died in Malheur City, Oregon. He had two sons, John Ward Sargent and William Judson Sargent, both born in Malheur City. Benjamin owned a hotel, livery stable and a mercantile store. John was a hoist man for the Rainbow mine, William worked as a ranch hand. Benjamin's wife, Fannie Toole Sargent worked in their hotel.
