Motom777 on Family Tree Circles
Journals and Posts
I have recently been given access to my Father's family tree and amongst the names I came across a very unusual surname - Sector. I have tried many internet searches, worded in various ways, but the search engines keep bringing up search results based on the word sector (business, science) and not related to it as a surname. I would be interested to learn of the origins and meaning of this name. It is very far back in my Father's tree, and there are no current relatives with this name.
Thank you, in advance, to any person willing to help me with this.
I am looking for information about any possible extended families of my Great Grandfather's siblings. His name was Boston Lamont(1863-1915 - Died in Raeberry Street, Glasgow).
Boston had one Son, Hugh, my Grandfather. Boston's father was Hugh Lamont(1835-1897) and his Mother was Mary Jane Lamont(Died Nov 24 1906,Maiden name - Lappin).
The family lived in Glasgow. There were six other siblings of my Great Grandfather, and their names were: - Angus, John, Donald, Hugh, Janet and Mary (Order unknown as I have no dates of birth).
The only other information I have is that Boston's Grandparents were named Donald and Janet( Maiden name - McCallum).
My family have always stayed in and around Glasgow.
I would be very interested to know about any information anyone might have in regards to Boston Lamont's siblings and their families.
