Jane and John Melvey

As a newbie, figured the first thing to do would be intro myself.
Deb from the central coast of NSW, here because I am searching for any information that might assist my ongoing search of my great grandmother (x 5), Jane Green.
Originally it was thought she had arrived in Australia as a convict, a wrong lead which had me searching between Dublin, Ireland and the Whitechapel district of London.
It now appears THAT Jane Green married John CARR, whereas the Jane I am after, married John MELVEY.

John Melvey was born in London,1805 (C of E) to Thomas Melvey and Elizabeth Wise.

He was apparently married to his first wife Eleanor when they were both arrested for Simple grand larceny (Break and enter)offence on the 18th November, 1830 and went before the Old Bailey Court on the 9th December, 1830 where Eleanor was found Not Guilty, but John was found guilty and sentenced to 7 years in the penal colony in NSW, Australia.
According to his COF (certificate of freedom) he was transported here on the \"Surrey\" and arrived in the year 1831.

34937 Melvey ( Melvay) John Surry 1831 1836 29 March Newcastle SG

Obtained Ticket of Leave

I am not clear on his whereabouts AFTER he received his TOL, but it would appear he travelled from the Port Stephens/Newcastle area all the way down to Sandgate, Victoria as this is where my most recent search located him at the time of his death on 6th September, 1866 aged 61.

My hope is to find information surrounding his travels; prior to conviction and after, and that includes his extended families,(descendants) the Cutler, McKay, Faulkner and Freeman families.
While I have a great deal going forward with the families, there are still missing links such as his second wife (my great grandmother x 5), Jane GREEN.
The ONLY information I have on here is that when her death was registered, she was said to be aged 63 in 1893

Am hoping against all hope my time wasted on previous trail won\'t be in vain!
Any suggestions or ideas offered is appreciated as any lead is a good one!

Cheers,
NannaJane
