Did she emigrate to America?

Emilia Arvidsson (1882-1929) was my Great Grandmother who came from the Gothenburg area of Sweden.

Emilia?s birth record shows her mothers name as Anna Lovisa Arvidsson, and no father is recorded (family oral history states that Anna had her daughter, Emilia out of marriage). The church record shows her mothers age as 21 (in 1882), therefore Anna Lovisa?s birth-year would be 1861.

We know that Emilia was placed for adoption at an early age by her mother Anna. The following record shows an Anna L Arvidsson who emigrated to USA in 1884 (at age 23), if this is Emilia?s mother, this was 2 years after she gave birth to her daughter, Emilia (our Great Grandmother). Name matches well, birth year matches (1861), place of origin ?B?narp Halland L?n, Sverige? matches, port of departure ?Goteborg? (Gothenburg)is appropriate. So perhaps this is a match?

The above record of emigration matches a Shipping Record, detailing an Anna Arvidsson on the SS Pavonia departing Liverpool on 20 Sep 1884 bound for New York.

From this point it gets difficult, tracing an Anna Arvidsson, possibly in the USA, who was only 23 years old, and probably married with a new surname.

It would be really nice to find out her history. What happened to her after adopting out her daughter?, if she went to the USA did she have a family?, where did she live?
