KEMNITZ, Louis (date and place of birth)

Louis Kemnitz was married to Mary Laurenson 1879 and lived in Dunedin NZ. He died 1925 Dunedin, I would estimate his birth about 1860 but have few details as to where? He had a younger brother that was born in Melbourne AUST. Louis was a chairman for the NZ Germany Society in Dunedin which makes me think that his parents and him came out from Germany, firstly to Melbourne where there was other relations and then on to NZ.

Any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Children of William McLeod/Mary Urquhart, Kilmachalmag, Kincardine, Ross-shire

Hi, I am researching my gg grandfather's siblings, his name is Hector McLeod born c.1838, the son of William and Mary McLeod, Ross-shire. The only ones I don't seem to be able to find are:

1. JAMES born 1829 Kincardine R&C (not present 1841/51/61 SCT Census) I presume he died young but haven't found his death.

2. ISABELLA (Bella) born c.1840 Kincardine R&C (not present 1841/51 SCT Census)

3. CATHERINE Born c. 1847 Kincardine R & C (present 1851, not present 1861 SCT Census)

4. WILLIAM born 1834 Kincardine R&C (not present 1851/61 SCT Census)

I'm trying to ascertain if William, Isabella and Catherine came out to NZ in early 1860's with other siblings that settled in the Otago area, or married and remained in Scotland.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

ROSS, Alexander and family from Ross-shire (with children settling in AUST & NZ)

I'm trying to locate firstly, the correct Alexander Ross and wife (name unknown)from Ross-shire who had twins, the female Isabella born about 1843/4 is my great grandmother and came to NZ to marry Hector McLeod from Kilmachalmag, Ross-shire. They settled in Kartigi, North Otago. The marriage and death certs have mother unnamed.

Secondly, the male twin (name unknown) settled in Australia and had a hardware/general store at the time of WW1 near the main wharf at Sydney. My great uncle visited the family in Australia when enroute with NZ troops to war. One of their descendants was an Isabella Ross at Campbelltown still living about 1982 but would have been very elderly.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
