PEACE DNA

Trying to determine which PEACE line from Kentucky we descend from. It looks like my PEACE ancestor in Kentucky in the 1800's was either born out of wedlock, or orphaned and adopted. The AncestryDNA test gives us a *few* PEACE matches, but nothing clear enough to draw any certain conclusions.

If you are a PEACE descendent, you know your lineage on the Peace line, you have taken a DNA test, and you are willing to compare results through GEDmatch (or Ancestry.com) please contact me. Thanks!

Kentucky Peace Folk, 1800's

Searching for the ancestors of William E. Peace, b. 1849 in Kentucky. He later marries Rosalthia Logsdon and has a son named Jephthah (my great-grandfather). The 1870 and 1880 federal censuses list this WIlliam E. Peace, and this is definitely "my" William.

The earlier censuses I can not be so sure about. The 1850 census shows a William E. Peace born in 1849 who I believe is the same William, but I cannot confirm. He is an infant living with an Elizabeth Peace (27 years old) and an older couple named Smith. Looking at the neighbors on this census he seems to be in the very same area of Mumfordville, Hart County, Kentucky as my William who is listed in 1870.

So far I have not been able to discover, with any certainty, who his parents were. I've had some leads, but each one has complications.

AncestryDNA gives us only a few PEACE matches, which seem to *maybe* point in the direction of the Green County Peace line (SImon Peace, 1769 + Priscilla Lusk, 1763).
