Phavens on Family Tree Circles

Hello,

My 3x Great Grandmother was Aseneth Paul (McIntyre) b1813 Canada. She raised 2 children in Chateaugay. She had a daughter Phyzilla b1837 and son Ransom b1844. Aseneth apparently raised the 2 children without a husband according to the 1850 census but then married Zebulon Foss and later Timothy Mott.

I cannot find records of her 1st husband although there is a James Paul listed in the 1840 Chateaugay census as head of household. It would seem likely that this James Paul is husband to Aseneth and father of Phyzilla and Ransom since all were in Chateaugay at the same time and bear the same surname.

Can you help me determine if this James Paul was husband to Aseneth Paul? What happened to him? Where was he born?
