Introducing Myself

I am a retired Supplier Quality Engineer and I enjoy the genealogy work of putting the puzzle together. I have mainly used the work of other researchers and compiled my family tree from family members, from 3 or 4 genealogy books on the Robert and Roberts family, Curtis family, Van Norman family and other information I was able to find on the net in Worldconnect, Gencircles and FamilySearch.Org. The family lines I am tracing are Roberts, Robert, Cain, Wilkinson, Allen, Venable, Van Norman, Powers, Stampley, Curtis and Day just to name a few.
One of my current brick walls is finding parents for Mary Lisa Jane Pierson Allen. She and her two brothers came over from Dublin, Ireland when she was young.
Mary Jane came from Ireland to New Orleans and all of her people died of yellow fever except for she and her two brothers.

She had a twin brother, Hugh Pierson who was raised by a doctor and became a dentist.

Mary was raised in the New Orleans Orphan Asylum for Women and trained to be a teacher. In 1870 Thomas\' nephews, Theophilis and Daniel, sons of William Allen, worked and lived on Thomas\' farm. In 1930 Mary lived with her son George and son Thomas and his wife Julia. Thomas and Mary are buried in the Allen Family Cemetery in St. Helena Parish. Her brother James died in the Battle of Shiloh.
