I am trying to trace my great grand mothers family background, born 4th May 1818 in Clonmel, Tipperary, Ireland.
Her parents Michael and Bridget Mansfield.
Johanna travelled to Victoria, Australia, marrying William Harwood in 1842 in Melbourne.
They had 7 children, one of which was my grand parent John, born 1843 in Melbourne.
Hope you can give me details of Johanna's family back in Ireland, cheers Rick Silverwood.
I have found out that my great grand parent John Harwood was born in Melbourne about 1843.
His occupation was a managing law clerk.
He married Isabella Macaloon 17th March 1875 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Melbourne.
John's father was born in London about 1806.
He married Johanna Mansfield in Melbourne in 1842.
They also had a daughter Johanna born in 1849.
I would like to know more about John's life in Melbourne, as well his parent's life in England.

She was born in 1853, in Dunoon, Scotland.
She travelled to Melbourne, Australia,, arriving on 18th Oct 1871.
Isabella married John Harwood on 17th March 1875 at St, Francis Catholic Church, Melbourne.

I'm looking for info on my my great grand parent John Harwood.
He was born abt. 1843 in England.
He was married to Kate Harwood, she died in 1874.
He married my great grand mother Isabella McAloon on 17th March 1875 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Melbourne, Australia.
She was born in Dunoon, Scotland 1876.
He died in 1888 in Prahran, Victoria, Australia.
I would like to know more about his life and family back in England, hope you can help, cheers Rick Silverwood.
Richard's son George, was born in Manchester on 5 Jan 1832.
He married Theresa Holdsworth BEARD (born in 1853 in Melbourne, Victoria) in 1876 in Walhalla.
His parents Richard Meadowcroft Whitlow and Sarah (nee Gardiner), I am not sure, could have lived in Lancashire.

I am trying to trace a school friend: Russell GOODMAN.
We went to North Bruswick State Primary School No. 3585, in Melbourne, in the state of Victoria, Australia.
The period was between 1951 and 1957.
He lived at 38 Tinning Street, Brunswick, with his parents and two sisters Margery and Janette.

Frances Rebecca Reddrop was born May 1855 in Stretton, Cheshire, England.
Her parents both (both of Cheshire) William born 1816, Margaret Williams born 1816, were married in Malpas, Cheshire on 22nd Feb 1836.
The Reddrop family of eleven,(Frances aged 7 years old) departed Liverpool in the ship "GREAT BRITAIN", arriving in Melbourne in April 1863.
Unfortunately William passed away in July 1863, the family purchasing farming property in Malmsbury, Victoria. (94k/m north west of Melbourne, on the Calder Highway)
Frances married Matthew Bourke (Rick Silverwood's great grand father) on24th January 1876, at St. Johns Church of England in Malmsbury, living near the family home.
They had nine children, one of which was my grand father, William, born in Elmore Victoria, in 1882.
Matthew applied to train as a school teacher on 1st July 1868 in Burke shire (near Malmsbury), A fully trained teacher 14th October 1872.
He taught in Drummond, (near Malmsbury)Elmore, Mansfield and Ballarat, retiring, due to ill health on 22nd June 1894.
Frances passed away in 1915, in North Brunswick, Victoria.
Matthew passed away in 1917, in Brunswick, Victoria.
He left Liverpool on 17th Sept 1863, bound for Australia (on the "Maryborough" ship), arriving in Melbourne on 16th December)
He trained as a school teacher.
He married Frances Rebecca Redropp on 24th June 1876, in the Victorian town of Malmsbury.
While working in teaching positions in five different country towns, they had eleven children, one of which was my grand father, William.(born in 1882 in Elmore, Victoria)
William married Minnie Frances Theresa Whitlow in 1910.
They had two daughters: Eileen Frances, born 26th Dec 1911.
My mother Mavis Kathleen, born 9th Dec 1912.
Also two sons:Edmund Mitchell, born 1916, died 1917 and William Richard, born 1918, died 1918.
Mum married Stanley George Silverwood on 27th Oct 1934.
My parents had three sons:
Desmond William, born 19th Feb 1939, single.
Trevor John, born 18th Oct 1941, single.
Third born was yours trully, Richard Bourke, born 26th July 1945.
I married Gladys Dawn Lucas on 5th May 1973.
We have two sons, Craig Ashley born 31st May 1977 and Bradley Robert born 9th May 1981.
My grand mother is Minnie Frances Theresa WHITLOW
Her father George Gardiner WHITLOW (born 1832 Manchester, Lancashire.)
He married Theresa Holdsworth BEARD in 1876, in Walhalla, Victoria, Australia.
George's father is Richard Meadowcroft WHITLOW (born abt 1796, Lancashire)
He married Sarah GARDINER IN 1822, in Lancashire.
