Robert Campbell b. 1813, Ireland

James A. Campbell, son of Robert and Ann Campbell, was born on the Atlantic Ocean in the summmer of 1841-42, grew up at Racine, Wisconsin, and was a Volunteer in the Civil War during 1864. His Reg. was sent by box car to Memphis, Tennessee, USA. Here one lad died of the measles. James Campbell also became very ill and put in camp hospital with measles.During this time, the camp was raided and James, a very sick young man, was ordered with others to get up and begin marching to another location. His weakened health was compromised and additional ills overtook him. He did survive and was mustered out with his commrades in Sep of 1864.
James was six foot tall, blond hair, blue eyes, and after a stay at the Wisconsin Soldiers Home, he was married at Iowa, to Elizabeth Beardsley, dau. of Porter and Lydia (Patterson) Beardsley originally from New York, but removed and settled in Wabasha county, Minnesota.
James and Lizzie left Iowa with one son, Milburn William Campbell born at Webster Co. Iowa, Dec. 1867, and headed up North closer to Lizzie's parents. They too, settled for a while at Wabasha Co,Mn. James bought land across the state in early 1880's to farm at Lac qui Parle co. Mn. They lived near Perry, Mn. for several years and had a second son, they named, Irving R. Campbell, born Dec. 1879, born at Wabasha Co.Mn.
James died the summer of 1884, leaving Lizzie and the two-boys.
Lizzie remarried a widower, David L. Philley.They moved into the Mazeppa home at Wabasha Co. Mn. Mr. Philley was considerable older then Lizzie and died about 1903.
Lizzie Beardsley,Campbell, Philley died Oct. 1927, Wabasha Co. Min.
Milburn Campbell married Isadore Winters and to them was born four children; Irving R Campbell married Ms. Carrie Gorman and to this
union was born five children.

1st. son, Robert jr.,born 1838, Ireland.
2nd. son, James A. CAMPBELL, born 1841-42, Atlantic Ocean.
Robert and Ann CAMPBELL had additional children born at Racine County, Wisconsin, USA:
Jennie CAMPBELL born 1846;
Samuel CAMPBELL born 1848;
Eliza CAMPBELL born 1853;
John CAMPBELL born 1856.
