The reason that i am researching my family history is so that i can find out about my father family background. My father James Liddell was born in Scotland in 1940 and passed away at sea on the 31.01.1979 while i was 3mths old and i never got to know him. All i know is that he was one of 8 children to John Liddell and Susan Gilligan. John Liddell was the son of John Liddell and Jessie McKay.

Where does my Liddell Family History start

The earlist members that i have are John Liddell and Sarah Fisken whom i have no information about apart from their son Hodgen Liddell who was born in 1814 they say he was born in England but that i'm not sure about, Hodgen died on the 04.09.1888 in 45 Pollock Street, Govan, Glasgow, Scotland. He married Blair Burnett Scott Thynne who was also known as Maragaret Blair Scott/Thyne. Blair was the daughter of William Thynne and Blair Scott

Census records show that Hodgen living in three different addresses 1841, Tradeston, Glasgow, Scotland,
1851, Pollock Street, Glasgow, Scotland, Occupation Flesher-Poulterer and
1881, 30 Govanhill Street, Glasgow, Scotland, Occupation Butcher.

It is also recorded that in 1871 Hodgen was a Flesher Journeyman. Together Hodgen and Blair had 8 children 4 girls and 4 boys

William Thynne Liddell b 20.01.1842,
Robert Liddell b 1843,
Agnes Scott Liddell b 02.04.1849,
Hodgen Liddell b 21.09.1850,
Elizabeth Liddell b 07.06.1852,
Sarah Liddell b 07.01.1855
and
Hodgen Liddell b 15.08.1861

As far as i know only 4 of the children married and had families of their own, they where Robert, Agnes, Sarah and Hodgen 1861.

If anybody has any family information regarding Blair Scott Liddell, William thynne Liddell, Hodgen Liddell 1850 and Elizabeth Liddell it would be very much appreciated so that i can add it to my Family History and Tree
