I am trying to find the birth of my gt gt grandmother ANNIE/ANNA MARIE (known by all three names !) EASTO(E)who stated on her marriage in Ipswich Suffolk England that she was born 3 MARCH 1835 in Quebec, daughter of SAMUEL EASTO(E)a builder by trade, he was alive in Oct 1852 as stated at her marriage, it is not known if he came with her to England from Canada. There is a link to NOVA SCOTIA too where they lived for a time where another daughter was born to Samuel and she did travel to England with Anna. Family tradition has it that SAMUEL'S wife was Scottish although nothing is known about her, she was obviously alive in March 1835.
I have tried to find her birth for many years so any help would be great. I have not even been able to find the ship they travelled on.
EASTO(E) is an English name and generally found around the area of Norfolk England.
I have information on these lines (all connected to me) that I would be happy to share -
COLLINGS of Ipswich Suffolk & Kenninghall Norfolk.
STERRY of Ipswich Suffolk & Norwich Norfolk.
CLOUD of Ipswich Suffolk originally CLOUT of Kent.
WELHAM of Ipswich Suffolk.
GRAY/GREY of Hawkhurst Kent.
HAMMOND of Stowmarket & Ipswich Suffolk.
CLODD of Waldringfield Suffolk.
I am trying to find the birth record of ROBERT GOODMAN born 1806 Ipswich Suffolk England he married HARRIET FENN 1st Jan 1826 at ST Clement church Ipswich. Their children were -
ROBERT ? - died infant
ELIZA abt 1828
MARY ANN 1830
KEZIA 1834 married John Fuller and had 12 children!
HARRIET 1839 died infant
HARRIET HESTER 1844
*SARAH ANN 1845 - my gt granny
The records I have found to date are often wrong and there is a debate on whether HARRIET FENN was the daughter of
THOMAS FENN b.abt 1776 & SARAH wife b.abt 1791
He born either Stonham or Thorndon Suffolk
HARRIET b.abt 1811 - marr Robert Goodman ?
KEZIA b.abt 1816 - marr Charles Oetzmann, Children Elijah & Charles, she probably died as he remarried.
Thomas & Sarah had other children, not found births to date.
Possibly East Bergholt connections
Possibly Baptists originally Stoke green Ipswich
Thomas was a miller and like most millers he went deaf. His obit was in the Ipswich Journal.
I have been unable to find the birth of ROBERT GOODMAN but am fairly sure on the rest of the info'. The picture is of ROBERT'S daughter, my gt granny, and her features are very strong on that side of the family.
CAN ANYONE SHINE A LIGHT ?
