SunnyDad60 on Family Tree Circles
Journals and Posts
I am researching my Thompson family slave lineage in Upcountry South Carolina prior to 1830. Specifically, I am trying to find out who the white father and Negro slave mother of my 2nd great-grandfather, Reuben Thompson (born into slavery around 1824), were. Family lore has it that the father was Major George Seaborn, a prominent civic leader, planter, slaveowner, and slave trader in Pendleton, South Carolina. I am not so sure. However, Reuben apparently lived on Seaborn's plantation with his mother and children until slavery ended.
Any help at all is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
