Anyone researching HAUPT families of Inverell NSW Australia?

Dear Readers, I'm trying to see if there are any connections with the MERRY family of Ashford / Inverell NSW. A distant relative of mine believes that my 3g grandmother Henrietta (I still don't know her maiden name, could be SCHIA / BRAGIER / BRAZIER / BROSER / BROSELLE) who married my 3g grandfather Henry MOST may have married a HAUPT. Although I can find no record.

APPS family from Bearstead, Kent, England

My tree starts from the top as follows:-

William APPS~ born 1814 Bearstead *, Kent, England
married June Qtr 1846 Harriett BOLTON born 1816 Maidstone, Kent, England. Harriett was the daughter of George BOLTON b 1781 The Folly, Kent and Sarah born 1791 The Folly, Kent, England. This was Harriett's 2nd marriage.

William & Harriett APPS had 7 children:-

1.John APPS born 1847 Bearstead, Kent, England
2.William APPS born 1851 Bearstead, Kent, England
3.Thomas APPS born 1853 Bearstead, Kent, England
4.Sarah APPS born 1855 Bearstead, Kent, England
5.Elizabeth Frances APPS born 1860 Bearstead, Kent, England
6.Emma Jane APPS born 1861 Bearstead, Kent, England
7.Isaac APPS 1864-1872 Bearstead, Kent, England. DEATH: Death registration 1872 Maidstone AMJ quarter 2a 328, Isaac Apps aged 9.

*GEOGRAPHY: Bearsted is an ancient village in mid-Kent to the east, and some five miles (7km) from the centre, of Maidstone. The village lies between Maidstone and Ashford. Source: Wikipedia, the free encyclopaedia.

~DEATH: This looks like William's death registration. 1866 Maidstone JAS quarter 2a 296 - William Apps Aged 51.

On the 1841 census there are several entries for William Apps born in Kent c1816 (with age rounded down). It is not possible to be sure which one of them might be ours. Interestingly, however, there is a William Apps aged 65 who is an Agricultural Labourer living on his own at Rose Acre Street, Bearsted, which is where William and Harriet were living in 1861. It might just be coincidence or he might be a relation. (Maidstone, Loose HO107/456/7 Folio 17 Page 2)

The probable marriage registration for William Apps and Harriet Cheeseman is 1846 Maidstone AMJ quarter 5 402. Harriets maiden name was probably Bolton. There are two indications why this should be so. On the 1851 census her daughter, Eliza, is aged 8 suggesting a birth in 1843. On FreeBMD there is a possible marriage in 1843 Maidstone AMJ quarter 5 369 between William Cheeseman and Harriet Bolton. Also, on the 1851 census there is a Mary Bolton, Sister in Law living in the same household as William and Harriet. She apparently has a son called George (aged 1).

Address Sutton Street, Bearsted

DEATH: There are quiet a few search results for Harriet APPS at http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ One in particular has Harriet Apps aged 60, died 1876 which would fit this one.

Harriett BOLTON first married William CHEESEMAN and it is assumed that he died c1845. [Marriage Source: There is also a marriage for a HARRIET BOLTON in 2nd Quarter 1843 in Maidstone district, one of the other names on the page is WILLIAM CHEESEMAN, Volume 5 Page 369].

William & Harriett CHEESEMAN had one daughter, Eliza CHEESEMAN born 1842 Boughton under Blean, Kent, England. It is known that she married 1864 in the Parish Church, Maidstone District, Kent, England to Stephen HUGHES born 1838 Kent, England and the couple emigrated to New Zealand. More about this family can be found in my HUGHES/CHEESEMAN journals.
