Greene Family

I found myself spell-bound but with intruding thoughts of Aunt Clara who was also a teacher and told me stories of her adventures in a one room schoolhouse along the stage coach route on the gently rolling prairie land filled with sink holes and secret caves, between Charles City and Osage, north of Floyd on land that homesteaded by her father, Archibald Campbell Greene and eventually came into the ownership of his grandson and my Uncle, Lee Anderson, who was Aunt Clara's Grand Nephew. In other words, Aunt Clara was my Uncle Lee's grandmother's little sister and Uncle Lee was my Father's little brother.

Clara taught school there in the late 1870's and early 1880's while the Iowa and the Winnebago Indians still roamed that part of the Mid-Western America, on both sides of the100th Meridian.
