on 28 May 1870 in Fitzroy, Victoria.
Maryann Smithill Marshall gave birth to William Smithill Marshall in 1864 in Collingwood before she married
Robert Dunbar. William was not listed on her death certificate and he was later known at William Smithill Marshall Garner. It is not know when he became a Garner (see post under GARNER). Maryann died 27 April 1904
at Emma St Collingwood.

Later he was known as William Smithill Marshall GARNER. His mother went on to marry Robert Dunbar in 1870 and when she died, William was not listed on her death cert. as her child. On 24 April 1886 William married Zipporah Puflett
born 1868 Wellington, NSW (parents: Father: John Puflett, Mother: Zipporah Perry). They had 8 children before Zipporah died in 1900, Kew, Vic. of a brain tumour. Ethel Zipporah born 1888, William Robert John 1890, Mary Olive 1891 (my relative), Harriett Daisy 1893, Ivy Isabella 1895, Lillian Anna Edith 1896. George 1898, all born in Collingwood, Vic. Emily Harriet 1899 born Carlton, Vic.
William married his second wife, Sarah Watkins, in 1901 in Bendigo and they lived in Collingwood.
There were 2 children to this union,Leonard Marshall born 1904 and Frank George born 1912, (Frank may have
been adopted). William died in 1940 in Collingwood, Vic.

Hobart Town, Tas. Australia. Looking for date/arrival in Australia. Think this was his second
marriage.
