My Great, Great Grandfather Archibald Gillies was born in Kilmyle Argyll in Scotland circa 1816 to Alexander Gillies and Mary Cameron. I do not know when he left Scotland for Sydney Australia or how long he stayed.

Archibald arrived in Wellington New Zealand on the 5th April 1840 possibly on the Middlesex from Syndey.

He married my Great, Great Grandmother Isabella Turner on the 6th March 1844 in Wellington New Zealand. Isabella was born in Moven Scotland. She sailed from Greenock Glasgow Scotland on the 25th August 1840 and arrived in Wellington New Zealand on the 27th December 1840 on the Blemheim as a passanger by herself.

Archibald was a farmer who settled in the Wairarapa Area until he died 25 March 1868 buried in Wellington.

Together they had six children:

Annie born 29 June 1842
Mary born 21 October 1844
Alexander born circa 1845
John born circa 1848
Robert 19 May 1850
Hugh 22 March 1852 My Great Grandfather.

I am seeking some information the date and month of leaving Argyll to Sydney New South Wales and the date and month of arrival.

I have looked on every website incuding ancestry.com, trove and found nothing.

If there is anyone who can help me that would be much appreciated.
