Looking For GGG Grandfather, Harris, circa 1775

My GGG Grandfather's Son, James B. HARRIS b: 1812 d: 1871 (died in Jefferson Co., Kentucky), probably Middletown. James B., Married Elizabeth GOOLSBY, b: 1814 d: 1897, she is the daughter of Tarleton GOOLSBY and Mildred Thornton WALKER, who originated from Virginia.

Based on a grave marker, near that of James B. HARRIS, in Jefferson Co., Ky., which purportedly is where James's Mother, an Elizabeth (?)-HARRIS is buried, we believe James's father, my GGG Grandfather, was a Robert HARRIS, who we know nothing about, and can find absolutely nothing about, the grave stone of his Wife, Elizabeth ?, the only clue.

In my endeavors to find documentation on my GGG Grandfather, I have searched through countless message forums, other member trees, official records, and story's, etc., etc., etc., but can not find a link. Some of the states, besides Kentucky, I've looked at are, of course, Virginia, Indiana, Tenn., and the Carolinas, with no results, whatsoever.

Now, I do remember my Father telling me, one time, about family in Oklahoma, so will be looking there as well.

Based on his will, it appears that, James B. HARRIS was a man of moderate means and property, so you?d think his father, would have been, as well, and therefore, something would have been written about him, or there would be other researchers looking at the same family, but so far have not found any. Now, there could be some of these Private/Personal trees, listed on Ancestry.com, that could be documenting the same family line, as me, but can?t even tell which HARRIS family branch their compiling.

Any help will be appreciated!

Bob Harris
