My great grandfather Henry Norman CLARK was born in Kansas on Aug. 23, 1876 and died Nov. 15, 1932 in Lubbock, Texas.

His father James F. Clark was born in 1845 somewhere in Michigan and died Dec. 13, 1899 in Limestone County, Alabama. His father was from New York and his mother was from Michigan but I have been unable to gather enough evidence to identify who his parents were. There are several James Clarks in Michigan in this time frame making it hard to know the correct path to take.

Henry Norman CLARK's mother, Mary (Unknown) was born about 1854 in New York. Unfortunately, I don't have any information on her maiden name or parents. I have been approaching my research under the presumption (I have yet find a record to support this) that James and Mary were married in Michigan; however, it would be totally possible that they were wed somewhere else. Maybe even in Kansas, where three of their four children are born:

Ethel Sargent (Aug. 17, 1878 - Aug. 05, 1960) Note: Ethel Sargent is the youngest son. I like to mention that, having been spun into confusion looking for records on a lady. haha. I have spent a little bit of time exploring a theory that his middle name, Sargent, is his mother's family name. Nothing has been convincing but there are some Sargent families in New York and Michigan within this time frame.

A daughter, Floy Lorene was born Oct. 20, 1876 in Missouri and died Dec. 04, 1953 in Etowah County, Alabama.

Sometime before 1899(the year he dies) James F. moves his family into Limestone County, Alabama. I don't know yet if his wife is still living at this point or not. James is buried in Pleasant Point Cemetary in Pisgah, Limestone County, Alabama. While I haven't gathered much information on Charles; Ethel Sargent and Floy Lorene both marry and settle in Alabama. In 1900, Henry Norman is listed in the US Federal Census (Limestone County, Alabama) as a servant to the THOMPSON family. He marries the THOMPSON family's eldest daughter, Susie Betty (1875 - 1923) and between 1907 and 1910 will migrate to Delta County, Texas.

I will need to write a separate journal entry for this portion of the story as it will likely include other surnames and isn't very pertinant to my current research focus. However, I do have a good deal of information about the CLARK family while in Texas, so if you are needing this information just let me know. I would love to be able to collaborate with anyone searching this line of the CLARK families.
