Genealogy as Christmas Gift

I had an idea today, probably not original, except to me! While going through old Christmas cards found in a box, I unearthed some 10 + year old Christmas letters/greetings from sisters, brothers, Grandparents, etc. Twenty five years from now, someone will be looking for information about our generation, like I do about my forebearers. So I'm sending scans of old Christmas letters and card greetings from family members back out to them. In addition, I will save those scans to my digital files of genealogical info. Hopefully, my records will be passed along through the family.

Hannah Bartles Roth

Hannah Bartles married a Roth (Louis, Carl, Harry?) possibly in southern Iowa in the late 1700's. They had two children, Anna and Charles, before he died within a few years in an accident between his horse and buggy and a train in the Marshalltown, IA area. Both Hannah and her husband were from Germany but it is unclear whether they married in the US or before coming here. She remarried and moved to the Estherville, later the Mason City, Iowa areas. Any help on their origins and his name would be appreciated.
