Still trying to find WALTER KING who went to NZ from Scotland, think he must have been born abt 1837, son JOHN KING born 1866 in NZ, but would like to find out who Johns mother was and what happened and where Walter came from. Any help, much appreciated. Carol
I have a lot of information on the ALEXANDER MUIR and MARY STUART family that came to NZ on the Duchess of Argyle in 1842. With them were there early children
John 1841 -Mary 1840 -Robert 1835 -Alexander 1834 - Isabella 1832.
I have since found A Walter King who came to NZ on "Clutha" in 1863, from Australia, but before that he came on the Elizabeth Ann Bright in 1860 to Melbourne from London and it appears he was with a William King aged 24 and a Mrs King aged 26, I feel this could be the Walter Im looking for but can not get to see the Passenger list. Does anyone out there have this list for EAB Sept 1860 to Melb. It said on the Clutha ship he was Scottish, so thats something that I had heard a long time ago, any help would be welcome. Thanks Carol
Has anyone ever heard of WALTER KING and family from METHVEN NZ around 1866 Was the father of my GGF and he was born there. Have a death Cert(that i ordered) for a Walter died 4 Aug 1916 Westport, all the dates add up, but according to the cert he only had a daughter, not a son, but seeing as he died of senility, he could have been confused. Anyone out there, know of any King's around that way. Thanks Carol
