Bio
First love photography, restoration and maintenance of old family photographs, and family videos, to leave a legacy for the next generations to view the ancestors they can never meet.
Second love family history, to maintain links hopefully with the interest shown in family history someone will keep and continue to add to whatever I leave behind.
Why do this, my maternal grandfather John Lyttle fell at the Battle of the Somme, France World War 1, aged 21, he never seen his daughter, my mother, she was born June 12 he died July 1 1916, it is odd but I missed not knowing him all my life, although I had a wonderful step grandfather, in 2005 I made the trip to France to stand at his graveside, I was accompanied by my brother and sister, we all felt the significance of that day.
That is why I try to record as much of my ancestors personalities as I can find, their interests, the colour of their hair, their height, photographs or anything that shows their humanity and not just dates of birth, marriage and death.
