I noticed information on Robert Shaw and Annabella Gordon on this site and wondered if there was info on Robert’s sister Agnes Shaw who married David Carswell in Ballantrae Scotland in 1863 and then went to New Zealand where their children were born
The Carswells went to New Zealand in 1864 and had the following children: William, Agnes McMillan Angusina, Mary Jane, Robert David, Jessie Helen. Jessie Helen died aged six and Agnes McMillan Angusina died aged 24.
Agnes had an illegitimate daughter Ann Hogg in Ballantrae in 1857 and I think she went with them to New Zealand. By 1861 she was called Ann Shaw and may have become Ann Carswell. Agnes Shaw was born in 1832 and David Carswell in 1837.
