I would love to find more information on my fathers mother Mary Vinson Drake
I have heard some awsome stories about my fathers mother, I have been told she was decendat from the line of Sir France Drake, and I was even told she had entered my name in the family Drake Bible, she was born in Mississippi or Lousianna, she married James Drury Pulliam and they had sons: James Drury, Curtis, George, Charles. Grandma uses to tell me stories about high tea with the Lady Bird Johnson and all the ladies were given bird names hers was Lady Blue Jay. She spoke english and french. I grew up knowing about Sir Frances' bible which held the names of our decendants and the bible could only pass to a Lewis Fraces and my father was the last, my father did not talk much about it, I remember an uncle Lewis which I beleive he lived in Houston, he was the holder of this great book while I was growing up, and he told me that it was on loan at the Smithsonian Meusum. But since my father never would talk about it none of children know much about it or what happened to it and my Uncle did not have any children of his own except one adopted son, and I do not know his name. I would also love to have information on James Drury Pulliam I,II, III. My father did not talk much about his brothers either.
I am looking for information on George Webster Washington King
I would like to know more about my grandfather George Webster Washington;Born Setp. 25, 1899 or 98; died Aug 19, 1959. He has one living daughter left that I know of at least, I know he had two wifes, Gladis was his first wife I am not sure how many chidren they had together, and his second wife was my grandmother Jesse Pearl King which they had 6 children and only one of these 6 is still alive today. My aunt states grandpa was very quiet about his life before gandma, she does remember that he would visit his first family, but refused to talk about his childhood other than he had a stepmother which he did not like so her left home around the age of 12, and he did have atleast one brother. I know he was in the army for a short period of time, I believe he may of joined at the age of 17. He was a carpenter, furniture maker as well as did remodeling like hanging wall paper. My aunt telles me he worked for Lacks around the 1940 or 1950's. I know they moved around Dallas, Corpus Christie and small towns around San Antonio and Oklahoma. It would be nice to know more about my grandfather, His grandchild and greatgrandchildren are interested in him, we have ran into a brick wall wanting to learn more about him. I would love to trace some of his steps and paint some of the places he saw along with my aunt which is in her 70's and has Cebral Palsy, she was not able to travel as her brother and sisters did and I would love to give her that gift now.
