Quick Question

I'm going crazy atm looking for my great grandfather....but the question I have is....

His name is Albert Edward Burton.... IF, and this is a big IF, he was registered at birth as an Albert Edward Francis Burton, would this be the name he'd have to use on enlistment papers, marriage certs etc? Or would he have been able to have gotten away with just using Albert Edward Burton??

Sorry a little confusing I know...but just curious....

Burton Family Stanthorpe QLD

Hi there!!
So I'm chasing my paternal grandmothers line and just keep getting conflicting information time and time again...
I'm looking for information for an ALBERT EDWARD BURTON. He married GRACE SMITH in Sept 1921 in STANTHORPE QLD. According the marriage certificate I have, it says he was born in Bendigo VIC - however I don't believe this to be accurate. He and Grace had one known child together ELIZABETH MARY BURTON (married to Victor CARTER and then Leslie UNGERER). I don't believe that he and Grace were married for very long. According to the 1922 Electoral record, she is listed as living in Esk and he out west further. Grace remarried in Mackay, QLD in 1932.
I've found possibly enlistment details for ALBERT EDWARD BURTON that lists his next of kin as MARY BURTON, HIGH ST, STANTHORPE. He's marriage certificate lists no father and mother simply as "KATHLEEN". I've found one birth record for an ALBERT EDWARD BURTON born 1885 to a MAY BURTON, no father, but this birth year doesn't correspond with age at marriage etc.
ANY information to help me sort out the mystery surrounding my great grandfather would be greatly appreciated!!
