Are you related to Stephensons of Heysham?

My g-g-grandmother, Ann Stephenson, was born in Heysham 29.1.1832 to John STEPHENSON and Isabella HUDSON.

I have been able to trace quite a lot of information on Stephensons and their spouses through the parish records, but would love to contact any descendants. Happy to share information.

George SEDDON of Deane, Lancashire

My g-g-grandfather, George SEDDON (son of George SEDDON & Ann) was born in Deane by Bolton in 1827, to George Seddon and Ann HUNT. He married Ann STEPHENSON (dau of John STEPHENSON & Isabella HUDSON), who was born in Heysham, Lancs. Both George & Ann died in Cardiff, Wales.

George's father was also George, son of George SEDDON and Ann HORROX.

I believe George & Ann moved to Somerset, where he was a member of the Somerset Constabulary, then to Cardiff where he was employed as a dock policeman by the Marquis of Bute. Ann died at Cardiff in 1885 and George in 1911. Their daughter Isabella emigrated to Australia. She was my g-grandmother.

I am looking for any information on the Seddons and their spouses.

Margaret ORMISTON of Sutherland who married Robert FRATER

Robert FRATER (son of John FRATER & Elizabeth MILLER) was born 1790 in Wooler, died 1.1.1854 Balnakeil. He married Margaret ORMISTON at Farr, Achness 17.12.1821.

I can find no details of Margaret's birth or parents. They had 9 children prior to her death in 1849. Robert worked for the Duchess of Sutherland, living in various places throughout Sutherland, including Farr, Creich, Durness and Balnakeil.

I would love to know who Margaret's parents were and a little about that family.

SMITH of Yorkshire, or was it Scotland?

James SMITH lived in Bradford, where he married Cordelia GALLOWAY 17.12.1887. His parents were William SMITH and Margaret MUNRO. I can find no birth for him and no further record of his parents after 1852.

Margaret MUNRO was born in Huddersfield 29.10.1850 to Scottish parents (William MUNRO & Margaret FRATER). It is believed they moved to Inverness some time after 1852, so it is possible James also lived in Scotland.

Where were Cordelia Metcalf and Thomas Dodsworth born?

Cordelia Metcalf married Thomas Dodsworth in Spennithorne, Yorkshire on 5 July 1769. They had 6 children, John 4.11.1770 (married Mary Stephenson), George 4.3.1773 (married twice), Sally 2.4.1775 (married Leonard Galloway), William 23.6.1779 (married Mary Hattersley), Anthony 11.2.1781 (married Mary Selby, and Robert 17.12.1783 (married Ann Umpleby).

Thomas died at Bagby, Yks 3.6.1736 and Cordelia died at Hutton Bonville in 1841, supposedly at 101 years of age.

I have been unable to find any record of birth for Cordelia and no definite birth for Thomas.

Fitzpatricks of Ballyglass, parish of Doora, County Clare

James Fitzpatrick and his wife Maria Commane (or Mary Hurley) are found in Ballyglass, Doora n the 1820s. James and most of the children emigrated to Australia in 1849. One son Matthew, remained behind with his wife and family. Would love information on Matthew & family. I have information on the Australian portion of the family if others are interested.
