Bio

Hello, David Adams,
I am an Australian descendant of mixed colonial Anglo-Celtic, Presbyterian, Anglican, Roman Catholic with a dash of Austria-Hungarian Roman Catholic thrown in. My family name Adams is sourced from Campsall, Doncaster, West Riding, Yorkshire, Benjamin and Sarah (nee Eyre) Adams came to Port Phillip as bounty immigrant in 1841. We also have names like Campbell (Peebles, Scotland), Frehan, O'Meara, Gorman, Frahen, Frayne, Ryan, Carter (mainly from Tipperary, Ireland).

Then My mothers side Normington comes from Leeds/Bradford, Yorkshire, some families from Portsea,Hampshire like World, Stephens, elsewhere there is a few Smiths from UK. Her great grandparents came from Pilsen/Pilzen and Englestadt, Austria-Hungary about 1878 via Hamburg, arrived Adelaide and then eventually Melbourne.

Castlemaine goldfields attracted some particularly the Normington and Campbell families. A long way to gobut it's an interesting journey. Cheers Dave
