I have just recently started researching my family history but as most of the family that could have helped are now dead it is extremely difficult. Also any information in Ireland is difficult to find. My great grandfather was George William Strong and emigrated to South Africa before the Boer War. He had a brother called Peter. He told my grandmother that they had owned a stud farm in Ireland but that he had called a british lady a bitch for hitting her horse so she took him to court and he lost all he had. Whether the story is true or not I have been unable to ascertain. The names he called his ten children all point to them coming from the Fermanagh or Donegal area. Any tips or information would be much appreciated. He died in South Africa in 1932 at the age of 73 according to the death notice.
