My family research began in 1998 when I got my first home computer. I began by working with a cousin who had began work on the Gibson line. Below is my line of Gibson's beginning with my gr-grandfather.

JOHN EDWARD GIBSON was born March 21, 1884 in Ellijay, Gilmer Co. GA
He married DELLA VERLIN PANNELL on January 18, 1903.
They had eight children with two children that died as infants.

His father was:
WILLIAM ANDREW GIBSON/GIPSON Born: January 30, 1853 in an area of Gilmer Co. GA that would become Pickens Co. in Decemver 1853.
He married GILLY ANN DEAL ca. 1877 (have not found marriage).
They had 12 children with John Edward being the 4th child.

His father:
DOCTOR E. (POSSIBLY EDWARD) GIBSON/GIPSON Born: CA 1828 in North Carolina (probably Burke Co. NC)
Doctor E. married ELMINA CRUMP in Union Co. Georgia on December 23, 1849.
Known Children Were:
WILLIAM ANDREW Born- 30-Jan-1853

LOUISA JANE Born -19-Oct-1861 (could have been sept..conflicting information)

FRANCIS MARION (male) born ca 1860.


DOCTOR E. GIBSON/GIPSON is where my documentation ends...He died in the civil war. I believe his father is possible MINNIARD GIPSON/GIBSON who was in Union County GA in 1850. No documentation found yet.

MINNIARD HAS BEEN SPELLED IN EVERY WAY YOU CAN IMAGINE:)
