Looking for details on John MUNRO . Who died in 25/3/1894 by drowning in the Mersey River at Latrobe in Tasmania.
We believe he was born in approx 1819 either in Tasmania Australia or Wick in Scotland.
He married 17.02.1851 Caroline MOORE an Irish Prisioner she was sent to Tasmania for seven years for stealing a cow. Family history say she bought home the wrong cow from the common where they roamed free.
A Munro family lived in Hobart in 1818 and they were free . They had three children.
John & Caroline had 4 children.George, Alexander, Roderick & Jane
I am Georges youngest grandchild.
