I have a George Smith born 1880, William Henry Smith 1897 and Frederick 1900, all born in Nottingham . They lived with their mother Rebecca Smith nee Chaplain in Nottingham in 1911, I have this from the 1911 Census. They have a brother Albert which I know about (I am a decendant).

Is anyone researching Smith's which may help me trace their ancestors.

I know some about the Chaplain's it is the Smith's I am having trouble with.

I have Fancis Meakins 1803 - 6 married to Lettice 1808 -11 (maiden name not known). I don't know when they were married, it woulf be about 1829. They had 6 children bewteen 1830 and 1850, one being Henry Makings, who I written about previously.

I believe Francis's father is Robert Makings (or similar spelling) 1761 born in Stanton. I do not know the name of his wife or when they got married.

How do you search for persons born before 1800's? I can only find family search web site, but this is not complete yet and doesn't contain the persons I am looking for.

Can any one help?

Francis Allaway born in quarter Dec 1890 daughter of William & Louisa. To my knowledge Frances was never married.

She had a son, Francis Sydney T Allaway in October 1913 in Cinderford. It is unknown who the father is.

She also had a daugheter, Evelyn around 1925. I can't seem to find her birth record. I understand she was registered as Evelyn Hawes/Howes. It is unknown who her father is. It is most probably that Evelyn and Francis have different fathers.

I understand that Evelyn married a Leslie/Lesley Evans. I can not trace the marriage.

I don't believe they had any children.
