Looking for Mary Brenan of Wexford 1800

Mary Brenan (Brennan) was the mother of Michael and Moses Brennan who were transported from Wexford in Ireland to Botany Bay after their court-martials at New Geneva Barracks in 1799.

They arrived at Botany Bay in February 1801.

They each received a ticket-of-leave in about 1812 and later settled at Appin.

Mary would have had a husband however there are no known records of his name.

I have almost completed a family history from her son Michael down to my father's generation and more detail about Mary's generation would be the final touch to the story.

I'm going to Wexford next year but would like some more information if possible beforehand.

Looking forward to hearing from someone,

Les Brennan

My background

Hi!

I live in Canberra, ACT, Australia.

I've been interested in my family history for about 7 years and started researching after visiting a cemetery in Appin NSW where my original Australian ancestors Michael and Moses Brennan settled after getting a ticket-of-leave each and are buried.

They arrived in Australia on the "Anne" and an attempted mutiny occurred on the way out to the colony.

My wife and I are visiting Wexford next year, about May, as part of a world tour and I hope to have the history finished and on the Net before then, hopefully this year.

I'm 65 years of age, like a beer (or two) and work in, or on the edge of, recruitment since retiring as a CPA Accountant.

My wife still works part-time as a clinical specialist in a local hospital.

Regards and hope to make some more contacts.

Les
