I am researching the ROWLAND family who lived in the Stepney area in the 1830's - 1850's. William ROWLAND married Esther Ann GARRETT on 18 Feb 1830 in Stratford Le Bow St Mary Church, Stepney Green, London. They had nine children before William died of tb in early 1850. The children of the marriage were:

William was a cabinet maker and later in his life [prob when the tb was active] he was a poor rate collector. He was born in London and was the son of Samuel and Mary Rowland. Samuel and Mary had eight other children and lived in the London area. Mary was the daughter of a carpenter and was born in London, I have traced her parents and a few siblings. I am unsure of where Samuel Rowland was born - possibly lancashire, though I have not confirmed this myself.

After William Rowland (snr) died his two eldest sons, Chas W and William came out to Melbourne in 1852. Both brothers moved up to NSW by 1855 as William marries Mary Ann Nowlan in Nov 1855. Esther Ann Rowland nee Garrett [their mother] followed out to Australia with some of the other children in 1859 followed later by the rest of the siblings. Most lived in and around the hunter valley region of nsw.

I am researching the Wurm family of Prussia. Brothers FWCH Wurm and Louis F came out to Sth Aust in 1850's. FWCH Wurm married Eveline Augusta Jamieson and the two moved to NZ
