Isaac was born 1808 to a John Sutherland and a Catherine Gann or Gunn.

Sutherland Isaac, Minister in Dunn in the Parish Watten, was married to Margaret Buchanan in Louisburgh. Alex Gunn, day labourer in Dunn ? for the man & Robt Buchanan weaver in Louisburgh for the woman. The page dated 1831 Jan 21st a signature at bottom ?

He and his family Immigrated to Melbourne aboard the Black Eagle in 1854 where he moved to Bannockburn Vic. He and his boys built the Sommerset Hotel which is still standing and is now a private home called Rosamont.

His children are as follows, my line is from Catherine and her first husband Robert Phillips.

I have them all on census etc but I cannot get a clear picture of him at all before his marriage...and get sidetracked by the Berriedale family which has been investigated and he is not connected.Many thanks to the many researchers that look for descendants.

He was a cabinent maker and a carpenter, builder. A minister I think for the Wesleyan Church in Scotland.
