My maiden name is CLEARY. Father was Harry Thomas CLEARY born 4 May 1919 or 1920.
His father, my grandfather, was Thomas Henry or Henry Thomas (we believed he was Harry Thomas also) and he was born in 1877 in Carlton, Victoria and died at Blackburn,Victoria, Australia on 2nd August 1950 at the age of 73. He had 2 sisters, one of which was Rose Cleary who was a spinster. R R Cleary served as a nursing sister aboard the SS Kanowna during WW1. I believe she was one of the 'bluebirds'- nurses in blue uniform.
He was 'married' (not sure - no marriage certificate) to my Nana, Alice Daffin Mason.
Thomas Henry's mother's name was Annie Callaghan and I believe his father was Harry Thomas Cleary.
Trying to put some pieces together???
