William GLENESK, born in Scotland,the son of John Handerson GLENESK and Jenet, married Mary Ann BURNETT, also born in Scotland, who was the daughter of Alexander BURNETT and Mary nee ALWAS. William was a Stone Mason.
William and Mary came to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia in 1838 with their daughter Mary Ann who was born in Aberdeen, Scotland about 1831. The small family moved to Rockhampton, Queensland where they lived for several years and William worked as a fishermen.
William died in Emerald, Queensland, and is buried in an unmarked grave. Mary died while the family was still in Rockhampton.
On the 3rd September 1853 their daughter Mary married William ALLAN.
