Hosky on Family Tree Circles
Journals and Posts
My relative, John Jamieson, was a shepherd and passed away on Maryvale Run in January 1870. There is an article on Trove which details no inquest was conducted by a policeman, Provis. John had apparently been unwell and when someone was sent to move him (and I guess his herd) he was found to be "quite dead" with no suspicious circumstances.
I have contacted a local historian in Streaky Bay and she has looked around the cemetery for me, to no avail. Records for the Streaky Bay Cemetery did not start until after 1870. His death was never registered either.
John came to South Australia on the Cornwallis in 1865 with his daughter, Mary (1854-1904)
Thankyou for any information or recommendations!!
