My g-g-grandfather, George Wiley Woodard is listed as born in Lincoln County in 1843.
There are civil war records when he was 17. He married in 1864 to the sister of a friend he met in the war - Louisa Bunn.
I know he stayed in Lincoln County because both Thomas Wiley (1868) and George Henry (1892) were born there.
I have been unable to find the death records for either George Wiley or Louisa. Can someone help?
My contact email@example.com or through Ancestry.com (Woodasrd/Bunn/Dever Family Tree)
Three generations of my WOODARD family are all listed as born in Fayetteville Tenn. But I can not find the progenetor who came to the area. I thought it was William WOODARD who married Annice Dement.
But recent DNA results did not match with that WOODARD line as listed on the DNA web site.
The first person born in Fayetteville was named George Wiley Woodard. His mother was Louisa Bunn from Franklin Ala. Louisa had a brother named Henry BUNN with a daughter named Margaret Genevia "Maggie" BUNN
George & Louisa's son THOMAS WILEY WOODARD later married Henry & Cynthia's daughter MAGGIE BUNN. Thus my grandfather George Henry Woodard who was also born in Fayetteville Tenn.
The interesting thing is that Henry & Louisa had an older brother named WILEY GEORGE BUNN. Can there be an earlier link between the Woodard and Bunn males with a shared friend named Wiley?
