DICKS family, originally from Longbridge Deverill in Wiltshire

My Dicks ancestors on my mother's side were all connected to the 1820 Settler parties who were assisted emigrants to the Cape Colony. They were nearly unemployed and impoverished as a result of the ending of the Napoleonic Wars and the British Government of the time wanted to boost the numbers of British citizens at the Cape. I would love to know more about the families before they left Britain and would be delighted to share details of the South African Dicks descendants.
