Brooks of southern Alabama
I am trying to find information about my grandfather's family. John Joseph Brooks was born June 2, 1905, in Florala, Alabama. His parents were Jim Brooks and Mary Dorsey. I am not sure if they were married. John married Flora, a.k.a. Flossie, Baker in 1926 in Miami, Florida. John had several sisters:Elzie,Florence,Lily Bonnet(Bonnie), and Frances. John and Flossie had 4 children:Joseph Willard(JW),Helen,Billy(died young),and my mother,Pearl. ANY information could open many doors. Thank you
Looking for Russells of Lisdoonvarna
I am on a long search for the family of Patrick Russell and Mary (maybe known as Margaret)O'Brien. I believe they Lived in Lisdoonvarna, County Clare, Ireland.Their daughter, Hanoria, was my great grandmother. Hanoria came to the USA around 1885. Patrick and Mary had at least 3 more children: Christine, was still in Ireland as of 1940, Gertrude, came to the USA, and Patrick, lived in Montreal in 1940.Have been told by family that Patrick, the father, owned a business in Lisdoonvarna, maybe an inn. Was also told, the business was still owned by family into the 1980's.
