Looking for "Tookey" connections from Greenwich in Kent
My Great Grandfather was Ransford John Tookey Rose. He had a brother, Henry William Tookey Rose. Both were born in Greenwich in the late 1830s. As far as I can trace there were no Tookey connections in the family. I have noticed that there was a Tookey family in Greewich at the time of their births so there may have been some sort of connection between the families. There have been no Tookeys in the family since. Is there anyone that can point to a real connection between the Roses and Tookeys at that time?
Moore and Ashman families from Cambridgeshire
My grandmother was from the Moore family, originally from Cambridge. I have noticed in some of her predecessors both in the Moore family and Ashman family that many of the first names have what appear to be Jewish roots. For example, Isaac, Samuel, Joshua, Benjamin, Rebecca and Dinah. Does this really indicate a Jewish background or is it just coincident?
